Whether you prefer the term “vintage,” “antique,” “pre-loved,” or just plain “used,” designing with old furniture pieces rather than buying new is one of the easiest (and most stylish) ways to add a little interest to your home while keeping tons of products from being sent to the landfill.

While designing the Reclaimed Space showhouse, Zem and her team found the perfect gilded iron lantern from Modern One, LA’s hottest vintage spot for twentieth century decorative arts. Hung in the center of the rustic living room, the Pier Luigi Colli piece from Italy c.1940’s gave balance and warmth to the space – and proved that antique-ing isn’t just for Grandma anymore!
