FRONT FROM SOUTHWEST

One of Hybrid Architecture + Assembly‘s most recent projects, Remington Court, is quite stunning.  Opting to do everything from start to finish, the company designed, developed, and built the four-unit project — a successful endeavor considering three of the four units sold prior to completion!  The interiors are modern and minimalist, relying on products such as HenryBuilt cabinets, Corian counters, Starck-designed Duravit toilets, and some of the following green features and elements:

Panorama

  • Super insulated walls and roof;
  • Radiant heat w/ polished concrete floors;
  • Rooftop vegetable gardens;
  • Abundant interior natural light;
  • Passive uses of cross/stack ventilation; and
  • Southern solar access.

Perhaps most importantly, however, Remington Court was built to last.  The ground level flex space has a separate entrance, 3/4 bathroom, rough-in plumbing for a future kitchen, and a demountable MDF wall designed to be built out to separate the first level from the other two.  So, over time, the homes can easily transform to suit greater density, as well as to provide an income opportunity to the homeowners.
